SENSORY PLAY CLASS
(12 months to 5 years)
Join us for an incredible sensory adventure where your little ones can explore and learn through exciting, themed play. Our classes are designed for your children to lead the way! Step back, cheer them on, and enjoy the fun as they play, create, and discover on their own terms.
Every class is packed with eight sensory stations that spark curiosity and joy, offering endless opportunities for your child’s discovery and fun. Experience the excitement each week as we introduce new textures, scents, and materials. This offers fresh sensory experiences while kids travel to outer space, investigate insects, learn about vehicles or play favorite books like 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.
You'll find a new, engaging theme each week, but the types of stations remain the same: dry, messy, sculpture, make & take, vertical, big body, teeny tiny, and a book nook. This provides a familiar space for kids to take risks while enabling them to hone skills week after week.
We do all of the messy stuff you don’t want to do at home. Don’t forget to dress to make a mess!

TEENY TINY SENSORY PLAY CLASS
(6 to 12 months)
If you’ve loved our traditional sensory play classes, you’ll be thrilled about our class designed just for your littlest ones—babies!
In this delightful class, we’ve crafted a special experience to ignite your baby’s senses and curiosity. We start with cheerful songs and playful rhymes that will get everyone smiling and ready for fun.
Next, we dive into exciting sensory activities where your baby can explore and discover. We might be playing with colorful parachutes, wiggling sensory scarves, or experimenting with fun instruments!
The heart of our class is all about hands-on exploration. We set up engaging sensory stations filled with amazing materials like water, pom-poms, and more. Your baby can explore these textures at their own pace, whether they’re splashing in a tuff tray or gently touching and discovering new sensations.
And yes, it’s okay if things get a bit messy—bring a change of clothes so your baby can fully enjoy the experience!
LITERACY FOR LITTLES: INFUSING BOOKS & PHONICS INTO SENSORY PLAY
(3 to 5 years)
Join us for an engaging class that brings literacy learning and sensory play together in ways that are joyful and specifically designed for 3-5 year olds. This program blends hands-on sensory experiences with foundational literacy skills, transforming learning into a playful journey.
Each session kicks off with a storytime featuring vibrant, age-appropriate books that ignite imagination and curiosity. As we read together, we'll introduce new vocabulary, explore phonemic awareness, and emphasize letter recognition in enjoyable and meaningful ways.
Following our story, children will dive into interactive sensory play stations that reflect the themes of the books we've explored. From discovering letters hidden in colorful rice to engaging with various textured materials, grouping objects with like initial sounds, to book-making, each activity is designed to enhance fine motor skills while reinforcing literacy concepts. In this class, caregivers will also have the opportunity to learn effective strategies to coach their child's literacy development as they play, fostering a supportive learning environment at home.
This class offers a unique opportunity for caregivers as well. Taught by Valerie Geschwind, who brings a wealth of experience to our community, participants will benefit from her extensive background in literacy. Before opening The Tiny Mess Club, Valerie traveled across the country and around the world, including destinations like Singapore, Barcelona, and Jaipur, to develop curriculum for schools and coach teachers on best practices in reading, writing, and phonics. In addition to guiding children, Valerie will also coach caregivers on effective strategies to support their child’s literacy development in class and at home, ensuring that everyone leaves feeling empowered and equipped to foster a love for learning.
Come and discover the magical intersection of literacy and sensory play with us! Your child will leave each class inspired and excited to share their newfound knowledge and experiences. We can’t wait to embark on this adventure in learning together!

→ Embrace the mess! During each class, we set up AND clean up the big messes so you don’t have to. You will, however, want to make sure your child is wearing clothes that can get messy. While we use child-safe, washable products, stains sometimes happen. You may also want to bring a change of clothes to go home in, just in case. We will also have aprons for children to use during class if they so choose.
→ Younger siblings are welcome as long as they are in a carrier during class.
→ When designing each class, we keep in mind children's ages as we choose the size of objects. There are times, however, when there may be smaller objects, so please always supervise your children during play.
→ We are nut-free and egg-free. If you have questions about specific ingredients or materials used, please don't hesitate to ask.
